How to Print Patterns at Home

I recommend using Adobe Reader to print all of your Next to No Wear patterns.

If you didn't know, the letter paper I print on here in the US is 215.9 mm x 279.4 mm and the A4 paper used internationally is 210 mm x 297 mm.

So to account for this difference (with 1 cm margins around), my print-at home pattern content pages are designed to be 180 mm x 258 mm (approximately 7.09 in x 10.16 in).  Here's how you can print perfectly on either Letter OR A4.

This is what you should see when you open the document.  Page 01 will always have a scale square somewhere on the page.

All of my multi-size patterns are nested and have layers.  Make sure to click the layers button to make sure you are getting just the size or sizes you need.

When you go to print, make sure you have the Actual Size button checked.  This is what it looks like on a letter page.  Notice the white border frame is little wider because Letter paper is a little wider than A4.

Now let's look at how the preview changes for an A4 page.  Again, make sure Actual Size is checked. Notice the white border frame is a little taller because A4 is a little longer than letter paper.

If you don't want to commit to printing the whole pattern right away, start with page 1 and check the indicator squares as I have done below.

And then once you print the pages you are ready to assemble.

Fold or cut the excess off of one side of the pages to be joined.  Then, using the alignment diamonds, position your pages together and tape.

(My personal preference is to cut or fold the left and bottom side of each page, and then overlap and tape on the right and top sides...not that it matters)

Once your pattern is all taped together, you are ready to cut out your pieces and go!  For best results when cutting, cut on the INSIDE of the line.

Happy Sewing!

P.S.  A0/Copyshop files are included with (almost) every purchase if you'd rather pay someone else to do your printing and skip this step entirely!
